The response

Long, low roofs extend well beyond the walls to create deep, shaded terraces. The rooms are arranged around a single pool, so every guest wakes up facing water and green.

Openings are sized for cross-ventilation; most rooms need air-conditioning only a few nights a year.

Teak, alang-alang thatch details, and hand-made clay tiles from a workshop twenty minutes away.
